Statement

Whenever an artist creates it is an extension of themself. It is a reflection of their personality shown through their creation. Every figurative sculpture I create is a self-portrait. It is a portrait of my personality showcasing my respect for academic art and pristine forms. It is an impression of the damage I have sustained through the difficult life I have so far experienced through heavy texture contrasting with smooth surfaces and use of pigments to create heavy variation signifying the weathering of life. It is the use of a time-honored material that may break from impact but never truly breaks down over time, ceramic, plaster. I am ceramic. I am plaster: time-less, resilient, and beautiful.
